Not all landscaping jobs are simple. Some projects require a multi-phase approach—blending thoughtful planting, structural grading, and aesthetic upgrades to deliver long-lasting, beautiful results. That’s exactly what we delivered for this recent client in the Greater Toronto Area.

Let’s walk through the full transformation step by step.

Backyard Landscaping & Tree Replacement

The backyard was due for a refresh. Our first priority? Replacing aging trees and restoring the side flower bed for better privacy and structure.

What we did:

  • Removed one failing Emerald Cedar and replaced it with a healthy 6ft Ontario-grown tree

  • Planted four new Black Cedars (6–7 ft tall) for privacy, including three along the neighbor-facing side of the property

  • Relocated decorative rocks and cleaned up the entire side flower bed

  • Edged and trimmed all flower beds and greenery

  • Installed 2 yards of premium black mulch for a bold, clean finish

This section of the project was all about restoration and subtle structure—preserving privacy while modernizing the space.

Front Yard Flower Bed Renovation & Tree Removal

Next, we tackled the front of the property, which needed a full overhaul. This included tree and stump removal, plus a custom-designed planting plan.

Here’s what we did:

  • Removed 1 dead tree near the front steps

  • Ground 4 old stumps flush to allow for proper grading and bed installation

  • Cleared all overgrown plant material and weeds

  • Supplied and planted:

    • 24 Hill Yews (50 cm) for year-round greenery

    • 12 vibrant Hydrangeas for seasonal color

    • 20 mixed Hostas and Sedums for layered texture

  • Installed compost soil, landscape fabric, and finished with premium mulch

The result? A clean, high-end look with multi-seasonal appeal and long-term health built in. For more on our planting and design services, check out our recent projects.

Front Yard Grading & Sod Replacement (2,400 sq.ft.)

Our sod crew handled:

  • Complete removal of existing grass and topsoil waste

  • Grading of the high areas (especially around old stump zones) to level the lawn

  • Full-yard re-sloping for drainage toward the street

  • Mechanical tilling and aeration for better root integration

  • Final leveling and compaction

  • Supply and installation of fresh, high-quality Kentucky Bluegrass sod
