This job started as a standard spring cleanup but quickly turned into two separate projects after a neighbour across the street saw the transformation and requested work as well.
The main property required a full spring refresh, including bed cleanup, edging, trimming, and mulching. Over time, weeds had taken over certain areas, grass had crept into garden beds, and the landscape needed a clean, defined look to start the season properly.
Our team focused on restoring structure, improving soil conditions, and installing durable finishes that would stay clean and low-maintenance throughout the year.

We began with a thorough spring cleanup, removing debris, dead growth, and built-up organic material. All garden beds were edged to create clean lines and prevent grass from spreading back into planting areas. Trimming was completed across shrubs and plants to encourage healthy new growth and improve overall shape.
Once the beds were cleaned and shaped, we addressed weed growth and prepared the soil for the season. Fresh soil was added where needed, followed by the installation of a thick, premium black mulch sourced from Van Beek. This high-quality mulch helps retain moisture, regulate soil temperature, and significantly reduce future weed growth.
In select areas, grass was completely removed and replaced with a gravel finish. We installed landscape cloth beneath the gravel to prevent weeds and ensure long-term durability. This upgrade not only reduced maintenance but also added a clean, modern contrast to the surrounding greenery.
Despite the scope of work, both projects were completed in under one day. The results were immediate — defined beds, clean finishes, and a property ready to be enjoyed all season long. Seeing the transformation inspired the neighbour across the street to move forward with their own soil and mulch installation the same day.
